Omega File: Democratic Socialists of America

Democratic Socialists of America
The largest socialist organization in the United States founded in 1982, merged from Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee and New American Movement.
After 9/11, the DSA preached the concept that the terror attacks were caused by the involvement in global affairs and transgressions by the American government leadership:

We live in a world organized so that the greatest benefits go to a small fraction of the world’s population while the vast majority experiences injustice, poverty, and often hopelessness. Only by eliminating the political, social, and economic conditions that lead people to these small extremist groups can we be truly secure.

The DSA, like the DNC, strongly opposed the War on Terror declared (unofficially) by the GW Bush administration, as well as military missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
DSA publishes a quarterly journal titled Democratic Left. The Founding Editor was Michael Harrington. DSA has also created a youth association called Young Democratic Socialists. Membership fees for DSA range from $15 to $60 per year. DSA also raises funds on its online Book Shop, which features leftist authors like: Michael Harrington, Barbara Ehrenreich, Cornel West, Todd Gitlin, Stanley Aronowitz, Howard Zinn, Eric Foner, Tom Hayden, Manning Marable, Michael Eric Dyson, Frances Fox Piven, and Richard Cloward.
As a political party it has been around since the beginning of the 20th century, established in Chicago through the trade and labor unions across the United States. I began gaining a foothold in society and politics during the 1930s.

Barack H. Obama was a featured speaker at a meeting of labor unionists in March of 2007 in the Hyatt Regency Chicago Loop Grand Ballroom.

The event attracted some of Labor’s big hitters to join Obama on the dais and speak, including John Sweeney, President of the AFL-CIO and Gerald McEntee, President of AFSCME. Also affiliated are: Jan Schakowsky of Evanston, Illinois and Senator Dick Durbin.

DSA is affiliated with United for Peace and Justice, an anti-war coalition that is led by Leslie Cagan, a socialist that likens her political ideology with that of Fidel Castro.
When the Communist Party of the United States split in 1992, out of it came the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism [*] constituting membership of Trotskyites, former Maoists, socialists and various forms of anarchists forming an entirely new party; the DSA being one of them. These committees and the DSA gained strength in Chicago thanks to the corrupted Chicago political machine and its controlled union activities in which Barack Hussein Obama worked closely. The DSA and other such organizations contributed to the success of BH Obama’s goal to be the 44th President of the United States. The fervor of passing unconstitutional legislation [] and continuing the progress of establishing the United States as a democratic-socialist-Marxist state; is a return favor to the special interest and subversive organizations and individuals.

A US President from the Progressive Caucus, 50 member socialist caucus in Congress to promote universal health care, progressive taxation, social provision and campaign finance reform. [Note: Campaign finance reform was already passed by Congress, the bill was co-sponsored by Senators McCain and Feingold, [] as well as ObamaCare. Progressive taxation is already in place within the income tax system].
David Green, Detroit:

Our goal as socialists is to abolish private ownership of the means of production. Our immediate task is to limit the capitalist class’s prerogatives in the workplace … In the short run we must at least minimize the degree of exploitation of workers by capitalists. We can accomplish this by promoting full employment policies, passing local living wage laws, but most of all by increasing the union movement’s power.

Activism/Political Record:
DSA helped form and works with the Congressional Progressive Caucus since 1982. According to the DSA website []:

No, we are not a separate party. Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, may of us have been active in the Democratic Party. We work with those movements to strengthen the party’s left wing, represented by the Congressional Progressive Caucus … Maybe sometime in the future, in coalition with our allies, an alternative national party will be viable. For now, we will continue to support progressives who have a real chance at winning elections, which usually means left-wing Democrats.

The DSA also supported the position expressed by the Black Radical Congress in 1999 concerning reparations:

Reparations is a well-established principle of international law that should be applied In the US … Thus we seek reparations from the US for its illegal assault on African peoples during the slave trade; its exploitation of Black labor during slavery; and its systematic and totalitarian physical, economic and cultural violence against people of African descent over the last four centuries

[Note: America is 250 years old]. DSA supported H.R. 40, introduced by John Conyers, to study the issues related to slavery and to make recommendations to Congress. …

We therefore call monetary reparations to be in the form of public ownership of utilities and means of production. And we call for the investment of compensatory funds into publicly owned institutions for the development of their communities. [distribution of wealth] And public funds shall be used to promote the general welfare, education, health care, public transportation and infrastructure targeted on those communities historically denied lack of access to capital and education by prior governmental and corporate actions

[Adopted by the National Political Committee, October 6th, 2002].

DSA reaffirms its support for single-payer health insurance as the most just, cost-effective and rational method for creating a universal health care system in the United States.

Presently the DSA, along with the Democratic Party of America, has been for providing amnesty to millions of illegal aliens who work and live in the United States instead of a concerted effort to deport them and punish those who employee them, including some labor unions. While claiming publicly it is a movement for human interests, it really represents a larger voting base (at least 8,000,000 possible votes) for their political party; as well as increasing their power and status as the controlling political factor in government from local to state to federal levels.
FBI Files:
While socialist and communist organizations were scrutinized during the McCartney Era, the FBI doesn’t seem to be as concerned with these organizations as extremist and fanatic organizations that may constitute the Fifth Column movement with the United States, which consists of certain extremist militia organizations and clandestine organizations who secretly fund and support Islamic fascism and other organizations that possess a possible danger of subversive activities. Not included in their watch list are the various Hispanic subversive Fifth Column elements and organizations that promote the false claim that the United States stole real estate from Mexico, as well as other activities involving illegal aliens, drug and illegal firearms trafficking across America’s southern border. After the McCartney period of anti-communist infiltration of America, the DSA and the DNA have convinced society that Joseph McCartney, who spearheaded the movement after discovering clandestine operations of Marxism working its way into the government and other organizations and institutions; was an overzealous neo-conservative. Succeeding in that delusional propaganda, Marxism began to steadily gain power within the government of the United States, the FBI being of little value in stemming the movement.
Personal Notes:
See endnotes below.

[*] Definitely a contradictory of terms – socialism and democracy; however accurately describes the melding of socialism and pure democracy (Rule of the Mob) that created an American version of Marxism, but Marxism nonetheless.
[†] As strengthening government control/power over banks and financial institutions, consolidating and strengthening power over auto industry with unions leading the controlling factor, commandeering the health care system in efforts to control and nationalize it; to promote amnesty for millions of illegal aliens instead of punishing them for breaking America’s laws; and opening the way to the United Nation’s dream of the New World Order concept and the continued efforts of a North American Union between Canada, Mexico and the United States in the model of the European Union.
[‡] This clearly demonstrates that a growing number of Republican Party members have capitulated to the graft and corruption of Washington, DC with Senator John McCain leading the political fence riders within the GOP. While at this writing there are no members of the GOP holding an elected office that is a member or affiliated with a socialist or communist organization, too many have unwittingly or due to corruption of character have joined the American political party that has been infiltrated by foreign instigated communist and socialist organizations sponsored by nations like (but not limited to) Cuba, former Soviet Union and China. Establishing a foothold in America during the Great Depression of the 1930s, the socialist-communist movement gains ground through crisis and undermining the foundation of our representative republic. This infiltration has been conducted covertly through political infiltration, community organizations, the American trade and labor unions, university and college campuses (Vietnam War era in the form of Maoism); and the educational system administration and teaching staff (courtesy of the introduction of a trade union). America is once again experiencing an economic crisis, as well as a constitutional crisis as that which occurred during the administration of FDR, and the socialist-communist organizations which have taken over the Democrat[ic] Party of America in the form of Progressives, changed after the term Liberal has been corrupted just like the political party itself. The progression toward Marxism befits the new name they call themselves, for they are no longer literally of a liberal ideology; just as the GOP has turned away from the root of its founding principles of a Jeffersonian republic. In this scenario of circumstances, a Second American Revolution has been declared against usurpers of American tradition, its founded principles of government, and the freedom/liberties that created the first revolution of independence. The difference is that the tyrants are here among us and not across the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean, and the weapon in this revolution is knowledge and the perseverance to put the United States of America back on the track as a representative republic and an icon of freedom and liberty for other nations to emulate; not a nation that emulates Marxism as European and other nations have succumbed to.
