Those whose job it was to found America and be its first representatives of the People, operating our government by a document called the Constitution of the United States, and later its amendments known as the Bill of Rights; James Madison wrote of the huge task that lay before them as well as an historical event in human history:

This revolution in the practice of the world, may, with an honest praise, be pronounced the most triumphant epoch of its history, and the most consoling presage of its happiness. – James Madison
People are still upset about Justice Ginsburg‘s Cairo, Egypt comments she made last month, and if there were concerns about the safeguarding of our rights and liberties, as well as the imposing of constitutional law that our government be limited in its powers – it is more so now combined with President Obama and members of Congress who do not respect the wisdom of the historical document.
Mark Steyn wrote:
Finding herself with a bit of time on her hands, Justice Ginsburg swung by Cairo last month to help out the lads from the Muslim Brotherhood building the new Egypt: ‘I would not look to the United States Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012,’ she advised them. Instead, she recommended the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the European Convention on Human Rights. That’s why the fate of the republic will come down to a 5-4 vote. Because four-ninths of the constitutional court think the American constitutional order is as déclassé as a 2006 BlackBerry. … [I]f the establishment wants to invent a new ‘right’ — i.e., yet another intrusion by government — it goes ahead and does so. If it happens to conflict with this year’s constitution, they rewrite it. The United States is the only Western nation in which our rulers invoke the Constitution for the purpose of overriding it — or, at any rate, torturing its language beyond repair. One of the most important duties of the President of the United States is nominating qualified, constitutional-minded justices from a pick of best judges across America. One of the most important duties of Congress is to approve that nomination, based upon the same principles – without concern of political ideology, but focused upon protecting and compliance with the Constitution of the United States. “Stacking” the Supreme Court has seemed to be normal government procedure since the days of Woodrow Wilson. It has affected our lives more than most people realize.
SirWinston Churchill praised America for its constitution and form of democracy – a republic. He also warned President Franklin D. Rooseveltabout trusting the “ally” Josef Stalin, who had, before being double-crossed by the fascist-Nazi Adolf Hitler, planned to carve and share Europe between the two nations – Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union Socialist Republic. But, much to many astonished Americans, especially those in government, FDR admired Stalin and even nicknamed him “Uncle Joe”. He admired the order of socialism and was naïve about the next step of socialism – communism, and its evils. He had allied America with a man just as evil as Hitler, but who didn’t use ovens to rid the evidence of genocide.
We have since then slowly evolved into thinking that other forms of government are better or that we need to combine the principles of another government into that of our republic – and they are gravely mistaken.
Political analyst, Michael Barone wrote of the impending decision the Supreme Court must make concerning the so-called ObamaCare mandate:
Liberal commentators were shocked this past week when in three days of oral argument in the lawsuits challenging Obamacare, five Supreme Court justices — a majority — asked questions strongly suggesting they think the legislation is unconstitutional. … [T]he justices are not the only federal officials who take an oath to uphold the Constitution. So do the president and vice president, Cabinet members and other appointees, and every member of Congress. … That means that every federal official has an obligation to act in line with the Constitution as he or she understands it. And that doesn’t necessarily mean obeying Supreme Court decisions. … Clearly the two parties are divided on the constitutionality of the Obamacare mandate. Polls have shown large majorities of voters think the provision is unconstitutional, though one can wonder whether many have given the matter much thought. But they’re certainly giving it more thought after this week and will likely give it more when the decision comes down. Voters can reasonably ask candidates for Congress their views on this and other constitutional issues and call on them to vote against measures they consider beyond Congress’ constitutional powers.
Calling today’s left-thinking politicians and their followers “liberals” has demeaned the word. Indeed, the American political left has so diminished the original term “liberal” – they have chosen to use another word to describe themselves: “progressive”. Their view of progression is toward some Americanized version of socialism taking place in Europe, and the ideology and commentary coming from the highest court of America, the Supreme Court, shows how far we are “progressing” towards the long established goal of socialism and more powers given to the government and less to the people. For the government, those elite that operate it, in the eyes of progressives, is the all-knowing group of selected individuals who have more of an idea how the American people should run their lives. President Bill Clinton said so publicly, concerning the option of privatizing the Social Security program and providing Americans with a choice and more control over their own retirement needs. Clinton was another president who was unconstitutional, as well as GW Bush to a lesser degree. All promised reform, but all we got is a severe case of economic disaster because people didn’t listen to economic experts and sincere members of Congress who warned and were concerned about the detrimental powers of the Federal Reserve Bank. In addition, because members of Congress and the administration of the executive branch, do not want the business-as-usual atmosphere in Washington, DC to change too drastically – thus the reason why the tax reform system is still not reformed and fixed. Tyrants do not give up their power easily.
Just as Ronald Reaganwarned America in the 1980s, so did Dr. Ron Paul. But no one listened. They did not pull this ideology out of their hats, but echoed the warnings of Thomas Jeffersonwhen he said:
Instead of admiring and listening to these warnings, those that want “Change” towards socialism, which will surely end up with despotism and the ruin of our republic, they people like those mentioned in the paragraph above, like they were fools or misguided thinkers.
No. They are right on the money.
Our success as a nation was not by copying the forms of government elsewhere, but to establish a democratic republic, whose founders saw that pure democracywas just as inefficient and detrimental as monarchy and socialism propagated by Karl Marxinto communism.
Ronald Reagan stated:
As our founders were, Mr. Reagan was a visionary and his honesty and integrity inspired many, like Ron Paul. Yet, too many American people listen to the bias propaganda of the mainstream media, who truly determines who gets the “popular vote” in primary elections – an important process that is supposed to put the best qualified candidate in the running race of the office of the President of the United States.
Of course, politicians have abused our trust as well as their position and over a period of time, as we can see today – it is the People who suffer the most. Yet, as President Harry Truman stated:
The buck stops here.
Meaning, ultimately, it is We the People who allowed it to happen; therefore it is We the People that must persevere to make those we elect to operate our government to abide by, follow, and protect the Constitution of the United States.
We won’t change the abuses until we reform the attitude that produces them.
Alan Keyes is another example of how the media decides who gets fair public notice (in a positive or objective way) and those they pick become the “popular” vote in “polls” that have been electronically rigged. Alan Keyes ran for president in 1996 after serving as an ambassador and in 1983, President Ronald Reagan appointed him an ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council until 1987. Outspoken, it is said he caused controversy while at the UN. No doubt he saw the hypocrisy and corruption while serving there. Ronald Reagan spoke up for Alan Keyes during a fundraiser for Keyes’ senate campaign. In 1987 he was appointed a resident scholar for the American Enterprise Institute. His principal research for AEI was diplomacy, international relations, and self-government. After his government service, Ambassador Keyes was President of Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) from 1989 to 1991 and also founded CAGW’s National Taxpayers’ Action Day. In the 1984 US delegation to the World Population Conference in Mexico City, Keyes was selected by Reagan as a deputy chairman. During those negotiations the Mexico City Policy was formed to withhold federal funds from international organizations that support abortion. Keyes also fought against Arab-backed UN resolution calling for investigation of Israeli settlements. Reagan also appointed Keyes to represent the US at the 1985 Women’s Conference in Nairobi and during his time at the US Department of State, Keyes defended the Reagan policy of not imposing economic sanctions on South Africa as punishment for apartheid. As Keyes stated at the time:
I see the black people in South Africa as the most critical positive factor for eliminating apartheid and building the future of that country. … And that is not something you do with rhetoric, slogans, and non-involvement. It’s not something you achieve through disinvestment. i
It is a dangerous concept that men of the armed forces must owe their primary allegiance to these temporary occupants of The White House, instead of to the country and the Constitution to which they have sworn to defend.–General Douglas MacArthur (1880 – 1964)
