State of Our Union: HR 347 and First Amendment

In February of 2012 the House of Representatives passed H.R. 347, Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011 and was also passed in the Senate, quietly without news coverage or fanfare, a bill that threatens freedom of speech in the form of peaceful protest of those government individuals that are protected by Secret Service agents. Persons of the White House and Congress and presidential candidates authorized to receive Secret Service protection.
The House of Representatives passed the bill 388-3.
It is actually a rewrite of an older bill passed in 1971 that addressed security issues of public officials and government buildings. The original law declared that White House trespassers were to be prosecuted under a local ordinance that brings misdemeanor charges for anyone trying to get close to the president without permission.

Under the new law, H.R. 347, it will become a federal offense, a felony, which will allow the government to not only bring charges against trespassers of federal property or sites protected by Secret Service agents, but also protesters, demonstrators, and activists at political events across America that are guarded by the Secret Service. Local authority is no longer involved because federal authority took over.

This means that Americans cannot protest at campaign rallies because Secret Service protection is in attendance.
Mr. Rooney, who sponsored the bill, declared that it was constitutional in writing
It’s all in the wording.
Haven’t I (and founders) warned about electing lawyers into public office?
They love to work the loopholes in order to succeed in whatever mission or purpose they designed.
Another bit of knowledge: Ex-presidents are authorized Secret Service protection for ten years after leaving office (formally it was for life).
This means if you protest while Secret Service agents are in attendance, you will be brought to federal court to be charged a felony and good luck fighting that court case in the state of tyranny and corruption: Illinois. Videotaping police is unlawful. They don’t want to be recorded doing “their job”. Illinois is also the last holdout, besides the District of Columbia, that does not honor or afford the American citizens within the state of Illinois to exercise their rights of the 2ndAmendment.
Even more of a worry and added fodder as to why Congress needs to be “cleaned out” in the next elections: only three persons voted “Nay” on this bill that became passed legislation into law when President Obama signed it. Rep. Justin Amash (MI) voted “Nay” and stated:

The bill expands current law to make it a crime to enter or remain in an area where an official is visiting even if the person does not know it’s illegal to be in that area and has no reason to suspect it’s illegal.

Some folks, to include myself, believe that this law was passed because this is election year and Americans are extremely dissatisfied. They remember that Barack H. Obama, among the many promises not kept, stated he would “not seek a second term” if the economy was not fixed. Well, it’s worse than when Bush was in office. The “Change” wasn’t specified as to just what “change” means to Obama and friends.
Under this law no protesters will be allowed to perform their rights under the 1stAmendment and peacefully protest this president and the unconstitutional members of Congress.
This, of course, is only one example of a president and congress that ignores the limitation of powers of the central government as well as ignoring the rights and liberties the founders put in writing in the Bill of Rights, amendments to the US Constitution. Obama does not represent the first threat against the Constitution, but he has flamboyantly, with the blessing of too many Americans, transgressed against it, as well as the traditions and values of the free republic of America and free nations everywhere.
Socialism or communism does not belong within the government of any nation of a free people. The system established by the founders of our nation conceived a document and its amendments that surpasses any other written material in the history of civilization – and yet, too many are willing to give it up for promises that can never be possibly kept and “free” stuff at the expense of other Americans.
Corruption is what killed major civilizations and the unwillingness to accept the natural laws that govern freedom and liberty. The society has always allowed it to be so. The Roman Empire fell from within before invaders ended it. It was because society had become apathetic toward corruption, cruelty, lack of self discipline and values.
We the People must endeavor to fix our way of thinking and reteach ourselves as to what the Constitution and its amendments is all about; and vote more wisely ensuring that those elected also respect our traditions passed from the founders, as well as the Constitution of the United States, as they are required to give oath to.
The following video is a good discussion on the topic:
