State of Our Union: Chick-fil-A Controversy a Good Example

The Chick-fil-A controversy is, to say the least, idiocy. With so much more important things to focus upon that concerns our nation and what used to be OUR government – this controversy is ludicrous. The media, of course, eats idiocy up.
First, the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Second, Chick-fil-ACEO, Dan Cathy, exercised his rights in two ways:

(1) Freedom of Speech – he was asked to comment on his company’s support of the traditional family; which today is becoming extinct thanks to the democratic-socialist movement that has infiltrated our society and our government. His comment was:
Well, guilty as charged. We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and … we give God thanks for that. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We intend to stay the course. We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.
2) Exercising his faith and family traditional values, and speaking out about something that he, as a Christian, knows is wrong. For reasons of the owner’s belief in their faith, Chick-fil-A stores are closed on Sundays – despite the fact of losing business by closing one day on a weekend.
Not only did the bias and nonobjective media hit upon this as though some serious crime was committed, but government got involved – where it doesn’t belong, as usual.
The Boston mayor, Thomas Menino declared that Chick-fil-A could not open franchises in the city –
unless they open up their policies and do a complete 180. They’d have work with LGBT [Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender] groups in terms of hiring, and there would have to be a public apology from Cathy
Rahmn Emanuel
Those outrageous, unethical, unconstitutional demands of a tyrant were met by another tyrant – mayor of Chicago (where else), Rahmn Emanuel, already infamous for his corruption and unconstitutional policies. He stated, as I noted in another article: Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values. Yes, we know about “Chicago values” – or rather its inability to promote good character and family values, religious or not.
Then, of course, there is the San Francisco mayor, Ed Lee, who stated he was:
very disappointed Chick-fil-A doesn’t share our values and strong commitment to equality for everyone … The closest Chick-fil-A is 40 miles away, and I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer.
Can you believe such a thing is happening in America? What was that about the Land of the Free? The only person or persons to be ashamed here is the outrageous attack upon an owner of a business for his religious beliefs and speaking his mind – especially when asked by the media.
As Alexander Hamilton wrote at Patriot Post:
Now understand, Chick-fil-A does not discriminate against those with Gender Disorientation Pathology in their employment or service practices. That would be contrary to Christian doctrine, which instructs that we are to love the sinner and hate the sin. You can’t love someone if you shut him or her (or it) out, and despite ignorant protests from the Left, genuine Christians reach out to all people. These venomous assaults against the First Amendment and its protection clause ensuring the free exercise of faith not only earned the three mayors condemnation from even the ACLU, but also gave rise to a Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday of this week. If your local Chick-fil-A is not open today, that’s because the nationwide response in support of this company depleted their product inventory yesterday. The massive turnout in support of traditional family values created blocks-long lines around some Chick-fil-As, and my sense is that those same folks will be turning out in long lines at the polls in November.
Fat chance on the ACLU actually siding with someone who really has a problem with exercising their rights. ACLU is famous for siding with those who want to exercise rights at the expense of other citizens’ rights. Patriot Post:
Of course, Leftists are the consummate hypocrites. On the one hand, they boycott a certain restaurant because its CEO subscribes to the Judeo-Christian family model established through all of recorded history but is a model that doesn’t comport with Obama’s homosexual agenda. On the other hand, they fill the tanks of their cars with fuel purchased from Islamic cultures that condone the stoning of homosexuals.
Obama promised “change” – but those that voted for him failed to get the details. He has insisted at an international forum that our national motto be changed from “In God We Trust” to “E Pluribus Unum”. In October of 2010, when citing the Declaration of Independence, he deliberately omitted “endowed by our Creator”. But what can one expect being raised and mentored by Marxists and a minister of the family church, Jeremiah Wright, being a racist.
The keystone of our Republic, and any nation, is the family unit; and that unit remains solid and unified by parents instilling a code to follow in life – morality and/or values – regardless whether that family has a faith in any religion or none at all. A code of honor and values representing acceptable civilized ethics keeps a nation strong.
We should never fall to the whims and fancies of superstition and bias of human history, and indeed use our technology to improve ourselves. However, never think that just because we advance in technology and civilization that we must also throw away the basic values of integrity, good character, honor, dignity, and respect for other people as we ourselves which to be respected – become outdated. They, like the US Constitution and its amendments, should not and cannot be shelved for something else; for the options of choice, like democratic-socialism, history shows us it will fail.
Our nation has not failed or been downgraded because of Our Constitution and its amendments; but we are failing because we allowed those operating OUR government to circumvent and outright ignore constitutional law and involve itself upon our personal lives that has deteriorated those values that made us great from the beginning.
I do not agree that one must be religious, in terms of complete loyalty to a specific religious doctrine or member of a certain religious entity in order to exercise the basics of family values and codes of honor, integrity, honesty, and being responsible for choices we make. However, George Washington, who was a pious man, as well as a great general and statesman, stated in his farewell address in 1796:
Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. …reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.
If religious principles or doctrine dictates persecution or outright torture and murder of “unbelievers” – the First Amendment cannot protect those who believe that fundamental doctrine nor should it. Yet, our present government, primarily the federal government, looks the other way when it comes to fundamental Islamists transgressing against other religions in such a manner – ignoring them and persecuting Christians, where Christianity under the laws, values and morality of Judeo-Christian principled law were the underlying natural laws that created constitutional law and the idea that all are equal.
BH Obama and associates in Congress and others who support them are chipping away at the First and Second amendments, which without those two amendments the others might as well have been written on toilet paper, used, and flushed.
And, as far as Second Amendment rights, the governor of Louisiana and  President GW Bush are guilty as well for what they did or allowed to happen during and after the Katrina disaster. During a time when law-abiding citizens need firearms to protect themselves, family, and property – the government decided to confiscate their means of self defense. So, for those of you who think such a thing could not happen – it already has.
Men of our newly established government, especially Thomas Jefferson readily agreed that if those who operate the government For the People no longer abide by Constitutional law and the decisions of the people as a majority, then they have the right to rebel against that government. We the People must rebel by using the power at the voting booth; while not allowing special interests, nonobjective and bias media, and those that would destroy the Republic created. In addition, at the same time, we must encourage fellow Americans, whether they have faith in any religion or none at all, that the American society must reform itself, educate itself in constitutional law, and become more responsible as citizens and fellow Americans. That reform must begin within the family unit. Children must be raised in the concept that they are the future of our nation and must be taught self-discipline, respect for education, and respect for others and themselves; with honor, integrity, honesty as the principle of their code of life. Children must have ethical role models as parents – and husband and wife each have their own responsibilities in ensuring that it happens. Just like freedom of choice, parenting requires responsibility to ensure strong family units and thus a strong nation.
It is the People that make a nation, not just a government.
