If the anti-firearm and anti-Second Amendment legislators cannot succeed, there is other, more subtle and subversive procedures to disarm lawful citizens.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
General Electric Co. is quietly cutting off lending to gun shops, as the company rethinks its relationship to firearms amid the fallout from the school shooting in Newtown, Conn. This month, Glenn Duncan, owner of Duncan’s Outdoor Store in Bay City, Mich., said he received a letter from GE Capital Retail Bank in which the lender said it had made “the difficult decision” to stop providing financing services to his store. Other gun dealers have received similar notices. … Days after the killings, private-equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP said it would try to sell the gun company it owns—Freedom Group Inc.— which makes brands including Remington, Bushmaster, Marlin and H&R.
It is a never-ending battle to protect rights and liberties established in the creation of our nation; and despite cold factual statistics, the myth of disarming citizens of the United States will reduce crime continues. More firearms are privately owned in the United States than in 1992 – but the FBI reports that from 1992 to 2012 violent crimes involving firearms has REDUCED. So the rhetoric about “turning America into the Wild West” with prolific firearm ownership is just talk with nothing to back it up. Indeed, the people do not know their history – authors of dime novels, sensationalist journalism instituted the “Wild West” image of the 19th century, and Hollywood in the 20th century created and perpetuated that myth. Shootouts like the OK Corral were not common and the shootouts between “gunfighters” at noon are a fantasy. Just as Marxist [any] Utopia is fantasy.
If ObamaCare is allowed to continue, it will be another avenue to succeed against the Second Amendment where unconstitutional legislation failed. Other amendments in the Bill of Rights have been consistently diluted – the First, Fourth, Fifth, and Tenth amendments. We have lost most of our personal property rights – one of the key things the Founders were careful to protect.
It is quite sad that American citizens must spend so much time protecting their rights and liberties, too many already lost because of the apathy of We the People, and not focusing upon true reform and what made our nation great. Most of the failures we are experiencing today in the economy and elsewhere is caused by politicians [and voters being irresponsible] not recognizing the true nature of problems and continuing to use solutions that have always failed.
The United States is no longer the “greatest country in the world” because We the People did not protect our Constitution and value the way of life – we did not heed the Founders warnings that the responsibility lies in the people to ensure that others within our nation, amongst ourselves, and those from without never take those clearly defined liberties away.
If Bill Maher who disrespects everything that stands for anything worthwhile states that most Americans are dumb and uneducated, it is because We the People allowed that to happen. We allowed people like Maher to commandeer our lives and tell us what is good for us instead of deciding for itself. Our educational system sucks up more money than any other – yet falls short of success. No one seems to know why or admits the truth as to how that happened. Schools tailor revolve around the needs/wants of staff and administration, not the students. They have also fallen short of what its purpose is; too busy in the agenda of indoctrination instead of teaching what is required of those who are the key to our nation’s success and their success in life. Classic wisdom is discarded and replaced with Marxist ideology, the latter that history has proven to be a failure and thus why America has failed.
If we want our nation to become great again, the people must be as great as that which they expect our nation to be. Society makes a nation and a successful society’s strength is the family unit. Any sociologist with any salt can agree with this fact. Once upon a time, discussion was encouraged because it brought out ideas, and ideas can lead to great things. Today, discussion consists of doctrine with concepts that has a history of failure – thus our children are taught to fail, which makes them more dependent upon the elite that has overtaken our government and society.
Marxism did not create our nation nor did it make it great – so why are we allowing citizens among us to dissolve the constitutional republic?
I cannot fathom why fellow citizens allow the corporate mainstream media decide for us decisions that we, as individuals, should determine. I cannot see why people would allow the few to dictate to the many how to live their lives. As the video presented states, we are strengthened from information, and the government and its media now determines how much information we are allowed and only their ideology is the correct one.
We the People need to save our republic. We certainly cannot depend upon those elected to do it. It is time to give notice to the legislation, judiciary, and especially the executive office – they need to find another career.
