State of Our Union: June 2nd 2013

  • State of Our Union: Fiscal Cliff Bill Passes Congress for Obama's Signature - and Income Tax Still in EffectTea Party News Network: Priorities: Fourth of July Cancelled for Military Bases While the Obamas Tour Africa on the Taxpayer Dime. Though we ask our soldiers to risk life and limb for their country, many soldiers will be unable to see the rocket’s red glare this year as we celebrate our nation’s birthday. But don’t worry; The Obamas are reportedly having a great time on their taxpayer-funded vacation to Africa. Fourth of July celebrations have been cancelled at Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base and at the Army’s Fort Bragg. The fourth of July celebrations have also been cancelled at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia. The Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina have also cancelled their Fourth of July celebrations as well as the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii and New Jersey’s Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. All of the celebrations have been cancelled due to budgetary restraints. The Tea Party is a fiscally conservative organization and we advocate small, limited government. Though Senator Harry Reid and other hysterics would like to label us “anarchists” or advocates of no government, we are merely advocates of small government that makes good decisions with taxpayer money.

The government spends $37 million to promote Obamacare and the government cannot keep the White House open for tours. Domestic help programs to help Americans get through the bad economy, but the executive branch spends $53 million to promote “fair” elections and voter ID requirements in Africa – this does not include what our government spends on foreign assistance for AIDS programs, mostly in Africa where the disease originated. And let us not forget that the Obama family, including Michelle’s mother and niece sightseeing in Africa to the cost of $100 million, from a treasury that is funded by you and I, and a national debt that clearly states such things are not affordable, well at least for the unclean peasant citizens of the United States.

  • James Hansen wrote in 1999: Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought. The drought of 1999 covered a smaller area than the 1988 drought, when the Mississippi almost dried up. And 1988 was a temporary inconvenience as compared with repeated droughts during the 1930s “Dust Bowl” that caused an exodus from the prairies, as chronicled in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath. [SEE: NASA GISS: Science Briefs: Whither U.S. Climate?] Hansen is one of those modern junk science who gets notice by fudging the information, commonly called the “hockey stick” in the junk science world. Climategate proved that the whole “global warming” [now changed out of embarrassment of progressive/junk scientists to “climate change” after being found out] was based on bad data whose faulty became the biggest scam in human history. [Also See: List of Scientists Opposing Mainstream Scientific Assessment] It might be interesting to note that the folks who believe [and make others believe] that the climate fluctuations and weather anomalies do not pay attention and/or accept that the Sun may be causing all of these changes, or that the wobbling of Earth on its axis could be causing “climate changes”. • Reuters, Huffington Post [Seth Borenstein] … “climate change” alarm! – Is it just freakish weather or something more? Climate scientists suggest that if you want a glimpse of some of the worst of global warming, take a look at US weather in resent weeks. [No mention of unseasonably cool temperatures in spring and going into summer for Great Lakes region, but this does not deter the global warming alarmists] Horrendous wildfires. Oppressive heat waves. Devastating droughts. Flooding from giant deluges. And a powerful freak wind storm called a derecho. These are the kinds of extremes experts have predicted will come with climate change …since at least 1988, climate scientists have warned that climate change [another ice age back then] would bring, in general, increased heat waves, more droughts, more sudden downpours, more widespread wildfires and worsening storms. [failed to mention that humans have accidentally set off wildfires during dry spells that has been recorded throughout history] … “This is what global warming looks like at the regional or personal level. The article also failed to mention that on the night of the reporting, the Santa Fe Opera opening night almost got washed out by heavy rain with a temperature of 63°F! See weather report for Santa Fe below:

  • Even in 1871 there were climate change alarmists … We have noticed that in the tabular statements of those compilers of weather records who write to the Times, useful and welcome as their communications are, every season is sure to be “extraordinary”, almost every month one of the driest or wettest, or windiest, coldest or hottest, ever known. Much observation, which ought to correct tendency to exaggerate, seems in some minds to have rather a tendency to increase it. [original research by Steven Goddard]

  • Osei Dixon says conservatives/constitutionalists should tell the GOP politicians to adopt the motto of Captain Jean-Luc PicardWe’ve made too many compromises already. Too many retreats. They invade our space, and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds, and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here! This far and no farther! [This also applies to the Mexican invasion and politicians in favor of amnesty as well as kissing the rump of terrorists, thugs, and rogue nations.
