In the News and Commentary:

Democrats, Republicans Failing to Live Up to Brands by Jonah Goldberg The Iraq war was sold, at least at times, as a war that would find weapons of mass destruction, end quickly, pay for itself and usher in a new era of democracy for an Iraqi people who would be grateful for being liberated from a tyrant. Suffice it to say that the Bush administration didn’t check every one of those boxes. … Liberals have been pushing for some version of universal, single-payer health care for over a century. … Americans blame the parties for a lot, but a lot can be blamed on Americans. … In the aftermath of Iraq and Afghanistan, many Republicans are growing more skeptical about the national security state and foreign interventions. If Obamacare continues to unravel, it will be interesting to see if Democrats undergo a similar readjustment, and stop over-promising and under-delivering.

Around the Nation: Oil Boom, Ethanol Bust – Mark Alexander, Patriot Post In good news from the energy independence front, the International Energy Agency (IEA) recently announced that by 2015, the U.S. will top Russia and Saudi Arabia as the world’s leading oil producer and, in the next 20 years, will near energy independence. … Long the nemesis of environmental zealots, fracking is not only safely reducing reliance on foreign sources of energy but is also continuing to disprove the alarmist claims of the environmental lobby. …the EPA is finally facing facts regarding its green-lobby-appeasing renewable fuels standard and has proposed a reduction to the standard for 2014. The move is all but an admission that the mandate – which requires that 36 billion gallons of renewable fuel be blended into the nation’s gas supply by 2022 – is bad policy. … The environmental lobby is naturally (pun intended) calling the move a “capitulati[on] to the oil companies.” In truth, the move is a capitulation to facts. And although the EPA’s step is a small one, it’s a step in the right direction.

The latest testament of how sick American society has become and how racism continues from the “protected” element of citizens, what is definitely racial – the Knockout Game gone viral on YouTube with racists bragging and taking videos of their brutality – FOX News, Washington Times, Syracuse Post-Standard, CBC News, NY Daily News, Washington Post, Business Insider, Philly Mag, & Examiner.

In Lansing, Michigan, a person playing the knockout game on the wrong person, who had a concealed carry permitted weapon. Fortunately for the victim, the taser used was faulty. The criminal received bullet wounds in the leg and butt. Why did the perpetrator do it? He said he was bored. But the reason is deeper than that with Twitter evidence to prove it. Racial tension has worsened since the media exploit of the Martin-Zimmerman case – while ignoring a racist act of violence by illegal immigrants and members of the “black” communities. Comments made by the President of the United States who stated in 2008 that he intended to close the gap on racial divide in America and unite citizens proved to be another false promise. Black leaders and the media who constantly look for racism [white vs black] say nothing when racism appears on the other side of the racial fence.

This video shows that some Americans are outraged at this despicable “game”:
