My father, who worked multiple jobs and faithfully and honestly paid his taxes for fifty years, had never heard a word from the IRS. In 2008, his daughter was tapped to run for vice president of the United States. Since that time, he has been, in his words “horribly harassed” six times by the agency. They’ve tried to dig up something on him but he’s always operated above-board. Government and politics are ugly. Kudos to the few that are trying to clean it up.
Maggie’s Notebook has an article that shows the US, in terms of taxation and economic freedom are falling behind countries like Estonia. That little country, along with several former Iron Curtain countries have learned that fair rate taxation is good for everybody – the government and the people – and they have a fixed rate tax that is based upon consumption, NOT income – which Americans have been seeking to have changed in US. We need more Americans demanding that the federal government, elected officials, clean up our government and make US great again as well as being a role model for freedom like we used to be – before we had progressives who want to imitate European socialism and welfare state.
