A Not-So-Transparent President (and Congress)

Obama-HaloWhen Obama ran for president in 2008, one of his unfilled promises was a more “transparent” government, which he accused the Bush administration of failing to do. Those who are associated with Obama have, more or less, promised the same thing. While the Democrats were wrong about fabrication of intelligence reports to get Congress to approve the Iraq War, the Bush administration’s NSA was also intrusive and many were against the so-called “Patriot Act”, legislation whose name was changed in order to make congressional members feel they were “unpatriotic” if they did not pass it. However, the transgressions of Bush and company pales in comparison of the unconstitutional, unethical and downright corrupt executive administration under the reign of BH Obama. Bush did not put any great effort in correcting domestic issues, as well as his Republican counterparts in Congress – like work at repealing the 16th Amendment and getting rid of the income tax system: forever. That alone would have helped the economy greatly, and contrary to congressional believe, also aid the federal government economically. Promises made at the GOP convention were never enacted, and Bush, like previous presidents, did not enforce immigration laws while talking of amnesty law and other factors that would never help the situation. The most under-handed thing that Bush did was secretly hold meeting concerning the forming of a North American Union with Canada and Mexico – clearly violating our sovereignty; thinking they could devise a system that would not fail as the European Union did. The way our armed forces is evolving, our future sovereignty is raised in extreme doubt – as well as the quality and professionalism of troops.

The Democrats never raised a cry of foul because their agenda is pushing for a New World Order, like Presidents Bush I and Bush II. It is well past the time for legal voters to be more responsible and do away with the concept that political party loyalty is required when making decisions at the voting poll. Constitutional law and principles set forth by the framers should be the gist of everything that Congress and the President do – it is why they make an oath when taking office; an oath that has too often been violated, just as the Constitution has for over fifty years. It may have taken a while to get to the national issues we face today and it will not be an overnight fix; but this year should be the year of the beginning of the reformation era of our government – that can only happen if We the People are united under the concept that constitutional law must not, now or ever, be compromised or negotiated. Once freedom and liberties are gained, it is the responsibility of the People to ensure that it is maintained and protected – just as those we elect to take office are responsible to operate our government under those laws and amendments. People point fingers at politicians in both political sides of the aisle, but the gist of the blame is the People; those that have been brainwashed into thinking that government should control everything because those that operate it do a better job. Horse hockey! History has proven this wrong, and now the United States as a constitutional republic is at extreme jeopardy because the People allowed politicians, special interest groups, and the media take control over something that belongs in the hands of the people. Politicians should be statesmen and stateswomen who remain responsible to the People and to ensure that every piece of legislation intended to be passed from bill to law is constitutional, and the Supreme Court should be conducting oversight insurance. The executive branch of the president, like the Department of Justice and other agencies have a task to ensure that those laws passed by Congress and signed by the president are ENFORCED. They, as those elected, are government instruments of the People (and By the People), and not have the attitude that citizens must be obligated to them because of their positions within OUR government, no matter what level.

hand_point2– GovTrack is a website created by a former student, Joshua Tauberer, who began the project as a hobby and has proved invaluable in keeping up with the myriad of bills and propositions of a Congress made up of individuals who think that their success is based upon how many bills they have produced instead of the quality and usefulness of proposed legislation. It is a useful tool and has a tracking system to help people keep track of the progress of certain bills or bills that pertain to a certain subject and/or issue.

The San Francisco Chronicle praised the website because it helped to educate and inform important information about their representatives and senators in being responsible voters.

As we can see, when Obama and his associates got reelected, that not enough people paid attention. In this critical congressional voting year, voters must be more responsible and use important sources of information that is accurate, unbiased, and objective – like GovTrack, the tool for voting Americans.

On March 8th, 2014, J. Tauberer wrote an important notice about a letter was posted, sent by 19 organizations that included GovTrack and individual citizens who called for access to the legislative data on bill status – those that Congress has, but will not share. A group was formed called the Congressional Data Coalition, formed by citizens, special interest groups, trade association, and businesses who want great governmental transparency through improved public access to and long-term preservation of congressional information.

Some of the groups that signed the letter are: Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, GovTrack.us, Data Transparency Coalition, eCitizen.org, Government Accountability Project, OpenTheGovernment.org, Project On Government Oversight (POGO), Public Citizen, and WashingtonWatch.com.

hand_point2– President Obama’s record of transparency is clouded and Congress fares no better on both sides of the political aisle, especially the Democrats. Even Huffington Post has commented on the broken promises of Obama and ultimately the unconstitutional actions of Obama and associates in Congress. The New York Times endorsed Obama to be reelected in 2012. It is apparent that major media corporations are politically biased, and as in the case of the Second Amendment, only reports that which reinforces their draconian gun control mentality.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a Democrat that is a starry-eyed Obama supporter, standing against common sense and reality in her spiel concerning Obamacare. As Michelle Malkin wrote, “she is eating her own words”. She, like other Democrats, is scrambling to brainwash citizens into thinking that Obamacare just got a shaky start, but all will be well. It is because they fear they will not get reelected in the 2014 voting polls. In the meantime, Obama and company have not enforced the legislation they passed because they found out “what’s in the bill” after passing it.

Congress has pulled the same stunts.

In April 2011, Obama signed a bipartisan-backed law repealing his own onerous $22 billion Obamacare 1099 tax-compliance mandate that would have destroyed small businesses inundated with pointless paperwork. Last March, with the support of several key Democrats, the Senate voted to repeal the Obamacare medical device tax. But the vote has not been enforced. Device makers have cut back on research and development. And according to the medical device manufacturers industry group AdvaMed, the punitive tax has forced companies to lay off or avoid hiring at least 33,000 workers over the past year.

And as far as Wasserman Schultz:

While Wasserman Schultz defiantly claims all Democrats will proudly run on health care in 2014 and 2016, endangered Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan of North Carolina was caught on camera just last week literally running away from a journalist who dared to ask her about the 24 times she falsely promised that if you liked your plan, you could keep it under Obama.

Meanwhile, Kathleen Sebelius still has her job.

hand_point2– The Obama administration phrase this week is: individual shared responsibility payment. It is like how liberal-progressives change global warming to climate change and being liberal to being progressive. Americans for Tax Reform reported:

If you (or any of your dependents) do not maintain coverage and do not qualify for an exemption, you will need to make an individual shared responsibility payment with your return.

The IRS explained:

If you (or any of your dependents) do not maintain coverage and do not qualify for an exemption, you will need to make an individual shared responsibility payment with your return. In general, the payment amount is either a percentage of your household income or a flat dollar amount, whichever is greater. You will owe 1/12th of the annual payment for each month you (or your dependents) do not have coverage and are not exempt. The annual payment amount for 2014 is the greater of:

1) One percent of your household income that is above the tax return filing threshold for your filing status, such as Married Filing Jointly or single, or

2) Your family’s flat dollar amount, which is $95 per adult and $47.50 per child, limited to a maximum of $285.

IRS, the Gestapo, has never been known to be concise or clear on anything.

Simply:

If you don’t obtain health insurance, you will be slapped with this tax individual shared responsibility payment. And within a few short years, that tax individual shared responsibility payment will increase to 2.5 percent of Adjusted Gross Income or $2,085 annually – whichever is greater.

This is NOT the transparency citizens hoped for when they voted for Hope and Change BH Obama – TWICE. It is because voters do not do their homework or insist that candidates make it clear just exactly where they stand on issues and clarify their proposals of “making things better”. The Devil was in the details.

hand_point2– According to Western Journalism, AFL-CIO, isn’t too happy …

When the UAW (United Automobile Workers) union failed miserably in Chattanooga and was not able to unionize the Volkswagen plant, even with a staked deck, it started a chain reaction; and the next domino has fallen. The news that the AFL-CIO has decided to keep its money and not even try to save three Southern Democrat Senators comes as no real shock. … Taking back America must start with a series of firm initial steps. Forcing Big Labor to run up a white flag over Dixie is an excellent beginning.

Meanwhile, while serious threats and issues abound, Obama goes on vacation – again …

SAVE THE REPUBLIC – Vote responsibility this year and write/call congressional leadership, especially after elections to impeach BH Obama.
