Constitution 101: Bill of Rights and Other Amendments to the Articles of the US Constitution

Is the relinquishment of the trial by jury and the liberty of the press necessary for your liberty? Will the abandonment of your most sacred rights tend to the security of  your liberty? Liberty, the greatest of all earthly blessings – give us that precious jewel, and you may take every thing else! Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel.
Patrick Henry, speech to the Virginia Convention, Richmond, Virginia, June 5, 1788

The Preamble of the Constitution has nor force in law and serves as a reason the document was created, as well as reflecting the desires of the Framers that wished to make a more perfect document than the Articles of Confederation to be a benefit to the people instead of detriment.

Fall of the Republic: Do You Realize How Many Rights and Liberties Have Been Lost or Weakened Thus Far?

preamble_to_the_united_states_constitution1Americans have been steadily losing their property rights, one of the key elements of the US Constitution and its amendments, deemed important to the Founders because of tyranny experienced under British rule.

Thomas Jefferson, 1788:

It astonishes me to find … that so many of our countrymen … should be contented to live under a system which leaves to their governors the power of taking from them the trial by jury cases, freedom of religion, freedom of press, freedom of commerce, the habeas corpus laws, and of yoking them with a standing army. This is a degeneracy in the principles of liberty … which I would not have expected for at least four centuries.

When the US Constitution was drafted, approved and finally ratified by the states of the Union, it was assumed that the description of specific powers granted to the government would leave no doubt, as to what the government could do and could not. The absence of powers over the rights of the people should have kept them protected. The Founders decided to be specific and add to the Constitution ten amendments to declare the Bill of Rights. The Constitution details the powers authorized by the federal and state governments and the Bill of Rights is a guarantee of those rights as part of the US Constitution.

Why Must We the People Battle Against Fellow Citizens for Rights of Our Constitution?

If the anti-firearm and anti-Second Amendment legislators cannot succeed, there is other, more subtle and subversive procedures to disarm lawful citizens.

The Wall Street Journal reported:

General Electric Co. is quietly cutting off lending to gun shops, as the company rethinks its relationship to firearms amid the fallout from the school shooting in Newtown, Conn. This month, Glenn Duncan, owner of Duncan’s Outdoor Store in Bay City, Mich., said he received a letter from GE Capital Retail Bank in which the lender said it had made “the difficult decision” to stop providing financing services to his store. Other gun dealers have received similar notices. … Days after the killings, private-equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP said it would try to sell the gun company it owns—Freedom Group Inc.— which makes brands including Remington, Bushmaster, Marlin and H&R.

Information Highway: April 21st, 2013 – Legislation, Congress, and Taxation

hand_point2Fairfax, Virginia – On April 8th, 2013, PoliceOne, an online law enforcement magazine blew the Obama and company’s claim that most of thedumb-and-dumber law enforcement officers across the nation were in favor of the Manchin-Toomey-Schumer Senate bill [S.22] that did not achieve majority votes to pass. The law enforcement website did this with a Gun Policy & Law Enforcement Survey conducted between March 4th and March 13th, 2013. Verified police professionals of different ranks and department sizes responded with a total of 15,595 filling out the survey, either currently active officers [76.2%] or retired officers [18.7%] with 5.2% neither active or retired. The department sizes ran from 1-25 personnel [18.1%] to over 1000 [19.3%]. It shows that law enforcement officers do not support President Obama’s gun control agenda or that of his political associates like Feinstein, Boxer, Menendez, Coons, Cardin, Blumenthal, Gillibrand, Wyden, Reed, Carper, Schumer, Cardin, and Mr. Whitehouse whose constituents need to replace in the next election. It was named the Gun Show Background Check Act of 2013 that required registration of Gun Show Promoters with the Attorney General [“Fast-N-Furious”] and included background checks [only criminal background, mental health not included] and would have made it illegal to transfer a firearm to a family member. [Sec. 932]

Info Highway: April 12th 2013

Banner_ManLookingDown_animatedhand_point2– Obama’s new budget proposes changes to Social Security and Medicare as part of the alleged entitlement cuts.
All my life, since 16 years old I have put money into Social Security and Medicare. Social Security is NOT an entitlement and neither is Medicare [not to be confused with Medicaid]. People put money from their wages and salaries into both systems expecting to get something when they retire. It is a system where individuals put money into the “retirement” system and have NO control over it, not even allowed to leave as part of one’s estate if they die before they get a chance to collect; because the government is the beneficiary. We cannot retire when we want or need to [like not being able to get a job] or get penalized before a certain age if we collect social security and still have to work [if work can be found] because government and the Federal Reserve has caused inflation.

Corporate Meda: Bias and Manipulation for Political and Mogul Use

lighthouse9_animatedThe media, US mainstream corporate national media, is not just bias, but manipulates information according to their will, most often in the name of sensationalism, rather than journalism, which according to them makes the news. I would like to see a reputable source to perform a national survey on that subject. I think people would rather have accurate news and news reporting that does not just provide criminals the headlines.

What about the “unsung” heroes [and heroines] who save the day using their Second Amendment rights?[See: The Armed Citizen]

It won’t happen because corporate media moguls want, like our present government, to take away firearms from lawful citizens in the false assumption that it will reduce crime.
